Neuromodulators are safe medications that are directly placed in/by the target muscle via injection. They act in the muscle-nerve connection by temporarily decreasing the strength of muscle contraction which in turn softens your facial wrinkles and expression, giving you a more youthful appearance. The goal of the treatment is to maintain a natural facial expression that looks rejuvenated. We will never aim to “completely paralyze” your facial muscles, as this leads to an unnatural looking face that takes away your individuality.  We carry several brands of neuromodulators (wrinkle relaxants) in our Medical Spa Clinic.

TMJ (temporomandibular joint) dysfunction creates pain in the mandible joint and can also lead to excessive teeth grinding. Neuromodulators are a great choice to treat TMJ. This is done by injecting the neuromodulator directly into the muscles of mastication (chewing muscles), which in turns relieves the TMJ symptoms by decreasing the activity of these muscles.

Hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating) is also easily targeted with neuromodulators. Inhibiting the muscles attached to the sweat glands leads to an inability to perfuse sweat in the targeted area. This is mostly done in palms and underarm areas.
